Frequently Asked Questions

SURF

Confidence is built through understanding, not pressure.
We choose conditions that match the level of each trip and adapt coaching to personal limits. You’ll never be pushed beyond what feels safe and constructive.

Surfing means working with ocean conditions.
If waves are challenging, we adapt the focus of the session — positioning, wave reading, confidence drills or technical exercises. Every condition becomes part of the learning process.

We recommend bringing your own board if possible. However, rental options may be available depending on location.

Yes, absolutely. Halia organises ‘Learn To Surf’ trips for people who want to get into surfing but have never or hardly ever surfed before.

PROGRESSION & RESULTS

Progression looks different for everyone.
Some surfers improve technical aspects like positioning and speed generation. Others gain clarity, confidence and better wave selection.

What we guarantee is structured feedback and a clearer understanding of your surfing — which accelerates long-term progression.

Yes.
Halia includes post-trip check-ins and online coaching options. Progression doesn’t stop when the trip ends — we encourage long-term development.

EXPERIENCE

A typical day includes:

  • Morning mobility and breakfast.
  • Morning surf session.
  • Lunch break.
  • Afternoon surf session.
  • Afternoon video analysis.
  • Stretching and dinner.

The rhythm is structured but balanced, allowing time to rest and process feedback.

No. We focus on progression, not comparison. The environment is supportive, respectful and built around individual growth — not competition.

TRAVEL & LOGISTICS

Yes, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers surfing activities. This ensures peace of mind in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Absolutely.
Many of our surfers travel solo. Shared surf progression naturally builds connection and community from day one.

Because we work with small groups and limited spots, we recommend booking as early as possible once dates are announced.

Each destination has a different travel itinerary, the information is available on each trip’s page. But don’t worry, Halia offers assistance in organizing your trip.

WHO HALIA IS FOR

Halia is designed for surfers who want to improve.
If your main goal is relaxation without structured coaching, another type of surf holiday may suit you better.

Halia may not be the right fit if:

  • You are not open to feedback.
  • You prefer flexible, unstructured surf days.
  • You are looking primarily for a social or party trip.

We prioritize progression and coaching quality.

ABOUT HALIA

Small groups allow:

  • Higher coaching quality.
  • Better safety.
  • More personalized feedback.
  • Stronger group dynamics.

We intentionally keep numbers low to protect the experience.

We believe shared experiences between women in the water create a unique environment of support, confidence and motivation that accelerates progression.

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellations and surf activities.

Please contact us directly to discuss options.

In the unlikely event that Halia must cancel a trip:

  • All payments made to Halia will be fully refunded
