When you join an Halia Surf trip you don’t book just a surf experience, you become part of a global community of women surfers that share the same values:
Connecting with nature: The ocean teaches us respect, patience, and presence. We surf to connect with nature’s rhythm.
Presence: Surfing demands your full attention—no phone, no distractions, just you and the ocean.
Community: Surfing alone is fun. Surfing with women who push you, support you, and celebrate your progress? That’s transformative.
Progression: Real improvement requires honest feedback, technical coaching, and pushing past your comfort zone. We provide all three.
Authenticity: A real surf experience by real surfers and cultural connections.
Sustainability: We surf because we love the ocean. That means respecting local communities, minimizing our footprint, and leaving places better than we found them.

ABOUT US
Iara & Crispi
Halia was born on our first trip together, improvised and authentic.
We grew up surfing surrounded by guys, and for the first time, having a woman who was a friend, a role model, and a motivation awakened something different in us after a decade of surfing. The feeling of seeing and sharing real surfing with another woman is so powerful, pushing each other’s limits and bringing out the best versions of ourselves.
Those days were so special that we thought, why don’t more women experience this?
COMMUNITY
THE HALIA FAMILY
Halia is a global community of women brought together by a shared passion for surfing. Our surf trips create a supportive environment where women surf together, grow in confidence and build meaningful connections - in and out of the water.

FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is Halia a surf camp or a surf retreat?
Neither a surf camp nor a retreat.
Halia is a women’s surf academy focused on real progression. While many surf camps and retreats prioritize the destination or lifestyle experience, Halia is built around structured surf coaching, technical understanding and long-term improvement.
Surfing comes first. Everything else supports that.
What surf level do I need to join a Halia surf trip?
Each trip is designed for a specific level (Beginner, Lower-Intermediate or Intermediate).
If you’re unsure about your level, we personally review every application and help you choose the right group to ensure safe and effective progression.
How does coaching and video analysis work?
Our coaching is structured and intentional.
Each day includes:
- Surf sessions with in-water guidance.
- Filmed sessions for video analysis.
- Daily technical feedback and personalized progression plans.
Video coaching is a key part of our method. It allows you to clearly see your technique, understand mistakes and measure real progression throughout the trip.
How many surfers are there per group?
Groups consist of between 6 and 10 people, depending on the surf level and capacity of the accommodation. Quality always comes before quantity at Halia.
Are Halia surf trips suitable for solo travelers?
Yes — many of our surfers travel solo. Halia creates a supportive environment where women connect naturally. You’ll never feel like you’re “joining a group” — you’ll feel part of it.
Where do Halia surf trips take place?
Halia organizes surf trips to Mentawai (Indonesia), Morocco & Europe. You can travel with Halia anywhere in the world through the ‘Custom Trips’ option.
